We chose this restaurant because of the great reviews, and we’re so glad we went. They don’t take reservations for groups under six, but you can join the waitlist directly through Google Maps. There’s a “waitlist”button you can click and leave your phone number, and they’ll text you when your table is ready. This is a must on busy days! We visited just after Christmas, and it was very busy. We were especially thankful that the host was able to squeeze in our small group with kids so we could take advantage of the lunch menu because we’re not big eaters and don’t eat much steak. We love sampling different dishes, and this place is perfect for that since you can order even just one piece of an item. Our favourites were the miso soup, kimchi, deep fried rice cake, creamy tomato basil soup, bibimbap, chicken thigh, miso pork belly, miso beef brisket, chicken wings, sausage, and shrimp. Everything we tried was delicious. I liked the charcoal taste in our food. Food came out quickly, and empty dishes were cleared promptly. While many people mention the great service, our server was just okay. Maybe he’s a new hire for the holiday season. He wasn’t very helpful in explaining when the food was cooked (we eventually figured out), but he was easy to find whenever we wanted to order more food. He seemed surprised when we left a generous tip. We were just really thankful we got to enjoy the lunch menu. Overall, thank you for making the dining experience a great one for our family!

Jimmy our server was very attentitive and on top of things. He made our experience a lot more enjoyable. The quality of the meats are quite high. The marbeling on some of the meats were excellent. Everything was delicious! I absolutely recommend coming here to experience this at least once. Be aware that there are usually long wait times for this place as it's really popular so try coming by not during the peak times if you're not a fan of waiting long.

We had such a wonderful time at Gyubee. The food was absolutely delicious…beautifully presented, full of rich flavors, and clearly made with care and authenticity. Every dish we tried exceeded our expectations. What truly made the night unforgettable was our server, Anson. He was attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. His recommendations were spot-on, and his warm, professional service made us feel genuinely welcomed from start to finish. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect place to enjoy a relaxed and memorable meal. We’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend Gyubee especially if you’re lucky enough to be served by Anson!

The beef dishes, including the prime galbi and rib-eye steak, are exceptionally fresh, and the marinade has a subtly sweet flavor that is very enjoyable and well-balanced. While the richness of the meat can feel a little heavy if eaten in large quantities, it is nonetheless very satisfying. All the accompanying side dishes are served in modest portions, which is thoughtful, reasonable, and prevents any food from going to waste. The cold noodles and bibimbap are both flavorful and well-prepared, adding nice variety to the meal. During busy weekends, the service can sometimes struggle to keep up with the crowd, which may lead to minor delays. Additionally, dining in the evening can feel a bit pricey per person, though the quality of the food largely justifies it. Overall, aside from these minor points, the experience is highly enjoyable and well worth trying.

After a 4 hr wait we were eager to eat and Gyubee does not disappoint! Service was exceptional, our server Alain was so quick to notice whenever we were about to order more food and came over right away. Food was delicious- variety of meats available. Happy we came for our anniversary dinner.

This is a popular, busy spot! If you have a group of more than 6, definitely make a reservation. For smaller groups, you can easily join the waitlist on Google; we waited about 15–30 minutes, which was reasonable for how packed it was. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. Service was a little delayed, likely due to the crowd, but the staff was super helpful and friendly regardless. Definitely worth the visit!.

Quinn was an amazing server. Overall, it was a truly wonderful experience again, but she made it even better. She was incredibly attentive, consistently checking on us and taking our orders with impressive efficiency. She was very caring and full of energy, and her warmth made us feel like we were having dinner in one of our closest friends' homes. We absolutely hope to come back another time and receive her exceptional service and radiant smile again.

John was an amazing server tonight. He went above and beyond. Service was fast. Meat was delicious. I really really appreciated the experience he gave us. Best service I’ve ever had in Richmond so far. Thank you for the extra crème brûlées and being patient with our huge meat orders. Hopefully we see you again next time!
